Dove Artist: Philip Yarnall

Philip Yarnall is owner and chief guy who makes things happen at SMAY Design. An established art director/designer with over 20 years of design experience working with some of the biggest names in the entertainment world, Philip states, “I’m always striving to find inventive solutions to your most vexing design challenges, and will work with you to give you what you need.” Clients include Sony Music, Rhino Records, Shout Factory, Universal Music Group, EMI Records, Loud & Proud Records, Now That’s What I Call Music!, Hank Williams, AC/DC, The New York Underground Film Festival, Barnes & Noble, Sterling Publishing, TIME/LIFE, SIGG Bottleworks and The Jimi Hendrix Estate.

DOVE INSPIRATON: Philip drew from vintage ‘60s poster art and artists from that time. A little bit of Peter Max … a bit of Victor Moscoso… and a bunch of the artist. Philip drew himself into the distillery side of the dove, raising a glass to Roscoe, NY and all it has to offer. As for the other side, he couldn’t ignore the fishing aspect of the area, and there’s just something groovy about psychedelic floating trout. He has already had clients asking for designs in the style of his dove, which is a nice testament to the power of art.
