Valerie Taggart holds a BA in Art Education from Elmira College and a MA in Painting/Printmaking from SUNY Oswego. From 1979 to 1984, she was a Middle School Art Teacher at Tri-Valley Central School and from 1984 to 2012 an Elementary/ Middle School Art Teacher at Livingston Manor Central School (retired). Her recent artwork consists of drawings, paintings, and prints inspired by the natural beauty of the Catskill landscape and its flora and fauna.
